Do You Need A Colonoscopy?

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month

Do how do you know?  Do you need a colonoscopy?

1. Blood In Stool (I had very little…and not consistently.  It would come on about twice a month and was very little, it was pink…and barely any on the toliet paper.  Very unalarming)

2. Abdominal Pain (I had pain that I thought was in my ovaries, or from having my tubes tied.  It would come on about twice a month and would only be intense for about 15 minutes.  Almost always in the mornings and when I had a full bladder.)

3. Diarrhea

4. Changes in bowel habits (pay attention…poop matters)

5. Weakness or Fatigue (I worked all the time…and was never not fatigued so this was a tough one for me to notice.)

6. Rectal bleeding

7. Unexplained weight loss

irst and second degree relatives (children, siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews) of a person with a history of colon cancer are more likely to develop this disease themselves, especially if the relative had the cancer at a young age. – See more at: http://ccalliance.org/nevertooyoung/risk.html#sthash.PGHJToKX.dpuf
